The Illinois Department of Public Health requires that all food service establishments that prepare and serve food will be required to have a certified food service manager on the premises at all times food is being handled. Also, the Illinois Department of Public Health now requires sanitation certificate holders that are renewing their license to attend an approved five-hour food safety refresher course.

The Illinois Food Retailers Association is offering both the initial 15-Hour Food Service Sanitation Certificate Course and the 5-Hour Sanitation Certificate Renewal Course in many areas throughout the state. The Corporate Training Center, Ltd. who specializes in food service sanitation training, will conduct these classes. 

Cost includes course book, instruction, and exam. Certification exam administered on last day. State certificate fees are charged directly to each student upon successful completion of their certification exam.

In order that we may have adequate course materials available for each class, you must pre-register. If you have signed up for a class and cannot attend, you must call us three days prior to the class date and cancel or you will be charged a $25 fee.

The Illinois Department of Public Health requires a minimum of five students per class. If a scheduled class has less than this minimum requirement, it has to be canceled. Students will be contacted prior to the start date and will be rescheduled for the next available class.

The Corporate Training Center, Ltd. guarantees that you will never lose your investment. Students have a 95% passing rate on the exam. If, however you do not pass the exam for any reason, you may take their course again, within six months, at no additional cost.

                           5 HOUR RENEWAL COURSES

The Corporate Training Center, Ltd. offers the 5 hour renewal course.  Each course will be given on the FIRST DAY listed under the class dates.  No Exam is given with a renewal course.  Each student must bring a copy of their current certificate.  Pre-registration is required, please click on the link below to print out the registration form. Please write "Renewal" or "Full Course" next to each students name. Please fax or send completed form to the Illinois Food Retailers Association.

We encourage members to register as many employees as possible who work in the food preparation area.

COST: $170.00 per person for 15-hour full course
$75.00 per person for 5-hour one-day renewal course
